Digg it

Avid CD and DVD collectors are always faced with one big issue: how to arrange their discs properly and label them accordingly for easy access. Most people opt to do the manual listing with a pen and paper or opt to save their lists electronically through Word and Excel. No matter what method is used, both of this still use up precious time when searching for a specific file located in a particular CD.

To answer this problem, a new innovation in CD organization had been introduced called the CD catalog software. With the use of this software, users can create a virtual CD/DVD database of all the discs in their collection. The software supports CDs, DVDs, hard disks, floppy disks, USB drives, and RAM disks. By simply inserting a disc in the computer, the software automatically scans its contents and keeps tabs on it for future use. Once a disc had been previously recognized, a user can now easily peek through the contents of a disc even without having to insert them on the computer. Users can even add their personal comments or markers to easily locate files using keywords.

Multiple CDs and DVDs can be included in the database as long as they were inserted at least once in the computer. Once a disc is inserted, the software itself will do all the necessary operations to gain necessary information for storage purposes. Once the data is in, users now have a choice of dividing and organizing them into subfolders and categories for easy access. Just imagine having a library filled with CDs and DVDs plus a virtual catalogue available all in one computer window
