Are you looking for a worthwhile activity that the whole family can do this summer? Instead of the usual summer camp or art class route, why don’t you consider enrolling everyone in basic life saving classes? With the current instability that is happening all over the world, it is best to always be prepared for all types of eventualities. These were the things that I took into consideration before deciding that I wanted everyone in my family to take some first aid courses. Unfortunately for us, there weren’t any available classes in our area. It’s a good thing that my ever-resourceful daughter was able to do a search on the internet and found a website where we could take CPR courses.

The American Academy of CPR and First Aid is a nationally accredited provider of basic life support courses that are free and accessible to everyone. And because everything is available via their website, you don’t even have to leave your house to start going through the various modules. Among the topics covered are as follows: adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, human physiology, assessing emergency situations, step by step emergency procedures, and artificial life support mechanics. With easy to understand diagrams and high quality images, it wasn’t difficult for us to follow the lessons even though we weren’t in a classroom setting. Each topic can be completed in about 20-30 minutes so those with short attention spans need not worry that they might get bored. For you to be able to get your CPR certification, you have to successfully complete the multiple choice exam. I was so proud when the kids were all able to pass the test with flying colors. Now we’re not worried about what can happen if we’re not around.
